Röthlisberger

In a workshop just outside Bern, Röthlisberger has been crafting furniture by hand since 1928. Its collection brings leading designers together with skilled Swiss joiners to make pieces that would be hard to produce any other way.

What began as a village joinery in Gümligen grew over the decades into a respected maker of furniture and interiors, producing pieces for Knoll and fitting out projects for architects such as Norman Foster and Renzo Piano. In 1977 the family launched its own line, the Röthlisberger Kollektion, under the guidance of young cabinetmaker Peter Röthlisberger.

The collection has since become a showcase of Swiss design, from Susi and Ueli Berger’s playful stack of drawers to work by Trix and Robert Haussmann, atelier oï, Alfredo Häberli and Moritz Schmid. Today a fourth generation, brothers Beat, Jan and Mark, lead the company, keeping its focus on precise joinery and furniture made to last.
